This heatlhy 50 year old personal trainer and mother of 3 underwent a prior breast augmentation 22 years ago with saline filled implants. She was unhappy with the shape and size of her breasts, and was experiencing both discomfort and asymmetry since one had developed a slow but definite leak. She first underwent a simple 15 minute drainage of her saline implants in the office by Dr. Kalus under local anesthesia, followed three months later by partial capsulectomy and removal of both of her implants. She did not want to be re-augmented and was extremely pleased 9 months following her explantation.
